On 15 October 2013 Adam Tayler attended the Super Ratings conference in Melbourne. The conference was a gathering of major superannuation fund trustees and insurers acting in total and permanent disability and death claims. Adam was on a panel talking about the recent increase in the number of claims by superannuation fund members. He emphasised that members are entitled to and should be encouraged to access independent legal advice in relation to their entitlements.  He discussed with a panel of experts the need for lawyers to be involved in disability insurance claims and the value which they bring.

With a further increase in claims likely in the coming years Mr Tayler urged super funds to ensure that their handling of these claims improves to reduce complexity and improve the time within which claims are assessed and decided.

On 24 October 2013 Adam Tayler presented a paper at the Queensland Law Society Personal Injuries Intensive in relation to Workers’ Compensation claims. Comprehensively covering statutory claims, common law claims and the interaction with claims involving non employers.  Mr Tayler highlighted practical tips and traps for young lawyers acting in this area.
