This is a great opportunity to utilise your skills in a reputable law firm as an experienced Legal Assistant/Secretary. The successful candidate will be required to provide administrative and secretarial support to the Personal Injury team.

The team is a personal injuries team that does a wide range of injury claims including workers compensation, motor vehicle, public liability, seafarers claims, TPD and disability claims.

The Role

The role is varied and to be successful you will have a strong desire to provide quality support and assistance to the all members of the team. Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • File maintenance;
  • Transcribe digital dictation;
  • Word processing of letters and documents including court documents;
  • Communicate with Government departments including the Australia Taxation office, Centrelink and Medicare;
  • Communicate with other third parties including employers and doctors;
  • Prepare mail including collating enclosures;
  • Print and collate various documents;
  • Compile briefs to counsel and other experts;
  • Open, close and archive files;
  • Data entry of claims tracking data and updating Outlook tasks;
  • Liaise with external litigation support businesses such as process servers;
  • General administrative duties tasks as directed by partners of the firm, managers and secretaries.

The Candidate

The successful candidate’s role will enable you to build on your current office experience which could lead your future anywhere. This is a full time position and you would ideally possess:

  • Previous experience essential with a drive to succeed;
  • Neat, professional appearance;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including good phone manner;
  • A reliable, responsible and eager to work attitude;
  • A courteous, friendly demeanour; and
  • Eagerness to learn new skills and contribute to the success of the firm.
