The Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists has published a helpful factsheet titled “Anaesthesia and cosmetic surgery” to inform people who are considering cosmetic surgery. This can be accessed online here.
The factsheet outlines factors which should be considered, such as whether the surgery will be performed in an appropriately licensed facility, whether your doctor is qualified to give anaesthetic and the different methods of anaesthesia and sedation.
The cases run by Sally Gleeson, Partner and her team deal with a range of medical negligence claims, including injuries (psychiatric and physical) arising from inadequate sedation/anaesthetic during cosmetic procedures.
