On Friday 25 November 2016 staff from Turner Freeman attended the Asbestos Diseases Foundation of Australia’s (“ADFA”) asbestos awareness day at the Australian Maritime Museum in Sydney.
Supporting our community
ADFA is a not-for-profit community organisation that works to raise awareness about asbestos in the community and provide support to people living with asbestos related diseases and their family members, carers and friends.
We had the privilege of being addressed by NSW Governor General, His Excellency The Honourable D Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d) and also heard from a number of other prominent people including The Honourable Adam Searle MLC and Professor Nico van Zandwijk of the Asbestos Diseases Research Institute. The day provided an important opportunity to speak about the prevalence of asbestos related diseases in the Australian community and to remember those who have lost their lives to these devastating illnesses.
The audience was also moved by ADFA’s new advertisement which features Turner Freeman’s former client, Serafina Salucci. The ad has been produced in the hope of raising awareness as to the dangers of asbestos and reducing the future incidence of asbestos related diseases in the Australian community.
Turner Freeman is proud to support ADFA and our staff were very grateful to be a part of the day.
