Since joining Turner Freeman Perth office in 2010 Alana has specialised in asbestos litigation. Alana completed her post graduate law degree, Juris Doctor at the University of New England in New South Wales and her Graduate Diploma in Western Australia.

Alana enjoys the medical aspect of asbestos litigation having a background in medical science holding a Bachelor of Forensics and Bachelor of Science majoring in Biomedical Science and Molecular Biology.

Alana’s expertise

Alana represents persons who suffer from mesothelioma, asbestosis, pleural thickening, diffuse pleural fibrosis, pleural plaques and lung cancer. She also represents those who suffer from silicosis and massive pulmonary fibrosis.

Alana brings claims against Amaca Pty Ltd (formerly James Hardie & Coy Pty Ltd), CSR Limited, Midalco Pty Limited (formerly Australian Blue Asbestos Pty Ltd), Local, State and Commonwealth governments as well as large companies such as Alcoa of Australia Ltd.  Alana primarily practices in Supreme and District Courts of Western Australia and the Dust Diseases Tribunal of New South Wales.

Alana also brings workers’ compensation claims on behalf of her clients. She handles claims through WorkCover Western Australia, iCare (Dust Diseases Care in New South Wales) as well as WorkSafe Tasmania and WorkCover Queensland.

Legal reform in 2018 sought to remove the time limit for those who were sexually abused as children in care. Alana now also advocates on behalf of victims of institutional abuse in the District Court of Western Australia.
