Matt Sage

Matt is a Lawyer in Turner Freeman’s Newcastle office, practising in personal injury law with a primary focus on workers compensation claims.

Before commencing his legal career, Matt spent more than 20 years in the building and construction industry, working in project management and operations management roles. During this time, he was involved in workers compensation matters from the defendant perspective, an experience that ultimately became the catalyst for his decision to pursue a career in law.

Matt joined Turner Freeman in October 2024 as a Legal Assistant while completing his legal studies. Following his admission to practice in April 2026, he progressed to his current role as a Lawyer.

Drawing on his previous industry experience, Matt brings an understanding of workplace environments and workers compensation matters to his legal work. He values clear communication and is committed to supporting clients throughout their claim.
