This is a newly created role due to the successful, ongoing growth of the Firm. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be required to process end-to-end payroll on a fortnightly basis ensuring accurate and timely payments, compliance with Awards/legislation and provide monthly and quarterly financial reporting, as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing fortnightly payroll for up to 300+ staff using MicroPay
- Creating new starters and updating staff information on ConnX and MicroPay
- Offer timely and accurate resolutions of payroll queries from staff
- Calculation of staff leave entitlements including Parental Leave and Long Service Leave in accordance with firm policies and relevant State legislation
- Reconciliation and payment of all superannuation accounts, including salary sacrifice to Super
- Running of auditing report to identify any discrepancies and errors
- Reconciliation and payment of payroll tax across various States
- Calculation and processing of termination benefits
- Maintaining and updating salary information following salary reviews
- Undertake yearly FBT reporting and payment
- Maintaining and checking the accuracy of staff timecards on ConnX and ensuring they are submitted in a timely fashion
- Running Financial Year End on MicroPay and generating reports and submissions to ATO
- Liaising with HR regarding new hires and terminations
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly reports for HR and the Board
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Experience processing end-to-end payroll for approximately 300+ staff
- Experience using MicroPay and Connx software
- Experience in interpreting the Legal Services Award
- Prior experience working in a legal firm and managing payroll
- Ability to meet regular deadlines
- Strong database knowledge including excellent Excel skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping
- Be able to use your personal and problem-solving skills to manage and work collaboratively to find a resolution
