Martin is a Senior Associate in our Queensland Wills & Estates team, based in our Brisbane office. He specialises in estate litigation and administration and has more than 12 years of post-admission practice across complex civil and estate disputes in Australian and international jurisdictions.
He has acted in high-value and often emotionally sensitive matters, managing disputes from initial instruction through to final resolution. His work includes acting for applicants and respondents in family provision claims, validity disputes, executor and co-executor conflicts, constructive and resulting trust claims, complex cross-border estate disputes, custody and disposal of body matters, AFCA superannuation complaints, capacity and guardianship tribunal matters, powers of attorney litigation, and Public Trustee disputes across multiple jurisdictions.
Known for his strong advocacy and strategic approach, Martin combines detailed evidentiary analysis with commercial pragmatism to help clients navigate complex disputes and work towards sound, practical outcomes. He has been recognised as a three-time finalist in the Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards, including for Senior Associate of the Year and Regional Lawyer of the Year.
Martin is particularly motivated by representing clients at times when the legal and personal stakes are high, whether they are pursuing or defending claims against an estate. As Martin explains, “Estate disputes often arise during times of grief, and I am driven by standing up for people who feel overwhelmed or unheard.” He finds it especially rewarding to help clients achieve positive outcomes that can, at times, be genuinely life‑changing.
Martin is also committed to mentoring, legal innovation, and enhancing community understanding of the law. He has contributed to articles, presentations, guest radio interviews and stakeholder engagement initiatives that help raise awareness of estate litigation issues and make complex legal concepts more accessible.
