Turner Freeman is a national law firm, established in 1952 we have been providing Australians with a broad range of personal injury legal services and other client services. We have a proud history of over 70 years acting for and protecting the rights of injured people.

We are currently recruiting for a full or part-time Legal Assistant/Paralegal in a similar role to bring a positive hard working attitude to our Varsity Lakes, Gold Coast office and to build on your current skill set.

Experience in the personal injury field would be advantageous.

The Role

We highly encourage candidates that have extensive experience as a Legal Secretary to apply for this role. The role is varied and to be successful you will have a strong desire to provide quality support and assistance with caseloads within our Gold Coast office. This varied and busy role will require you to perform the following but not limited duties including mandatory legal assistant work that you have acquired in your previous employment:

  • Open new matters;
  • Prepare, draft and proof reading of court documents and drafting correspondence;
  • Draft and prepare briefs to counsel including electronic;
  • File, schedule management and research;
  • Extensive client liaison, both personal and over the phone;
  • Proactively communicate and liaise with external clients including medical and legal professionals. Following up on requests for medical reports from doctors and other experts;
  • Prepare chronologies and summaries;
  • Preparation of statements and typing of correspondence;
  • Ongoing general administration duties.

The Candidate

    • Legal secretary/paralegal experience would be advantageous;
    • Exceptional time management skills;
    • A high level of attention to detail;
    • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills;
    • Typing speed of 65+ wpm;
    • iManage and Aderant Expert experience would be highly desirable, however not essential as full induction training will be provided;
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Enthusiastic and a great team player.

Salary will be commensurate with the Award and the successful applicant’s experience.
