The Role
This position is based within our Dust Diseases Department, working on asbestos and toxic dust related claims. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to providing high quality support and assistance across the team. Ideally, you will bring experience in a legal environment, enabling a smooth transition into the role. An individual who has experience in a historical and journalist practice area is highly desirable.
About the Role
We’re looking for a uniquely skilled professional who can bridge two worlds, the accuracy and procedural discipline of a Paralegal, and the curiosity, interviewing finesse, and narrative clarity with a journalistic approach.
In this onsite role, you will take detailed witness statements, conduct sensitive interviews, and transform complex experiences into clear, structured, legally robust accounts. You’ll be working closely with Lawyers and clients to ensure every statement is both factually sound and compellingly articulated.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in depth interviews with witnesses, clients, and third parties;
- Draft high quality witness statements that are accurate, coherent, and legally compliant;
- Apply journalistic interviewing techniques to draw out detail, context, and nuance;
- Analyse documents, evidence, and timelines to support statement preparation;
- Liaise with legal teams to ensure statements meet procedural and evidentiary standards
- Maintain meticulous records and manage confidential information with discretion; and
- Assist with case preparation, research, and general paralegal duties as required.
