Graduate Lawyer – Dust Diseases – Parramatta

We are seeking a motivated Dust Diseases Lawyer to join our Parramatta office. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate lawyer through to a lawyer with 2+ years PQE who is interested in building a career in plaintiff personal injury litigation, with a particular focus on asbestos, silica and other occupational dust disease claims.

You will work closely with experienced practitioners in a supportive and client-focused environment, assisting vulnerable clients and their families through complex and often sensitive claims. The role offers hands-on experience, strong mentoring and genuine scope to develop specialist expertise in this important area of law.

About the Role

In this role, you will assist with and, depending on experience, manage plaintiff dust diseases matters from initial instructions through to resolution. You will be supported to develop your technical skills, client communication style and litigation judgment while contributing to meaningful outcomes for clients.

• Assist with the preparation and conduct of dust diseases and personal injury claims.
• Draft correspondence, advices, court documents and other legal material.
• Review medical, employment and factual evidence relevant to liability, causation and damages.
• Work with senior lawyers, counsel, medical experts to progress matters efficiently.

About You

We are looking for someone who is diligent, compassionate and keen to develop in a specialist litigation practice. Prior dust diseases experience is highly regarded, but candidates with plaintiff personal injury, workers compensation, medical negligence or related litigation experience will also be considered.

• Admitted, or soon to be admitted, as a solicitor in NSW.
• Graduate level to 2+ years post-admission experience.
• Interest in dust diseases, asbestos, silica or occupational disease litigation.
• Current or eligible NSW Practising Certificate.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and sound legal research skills.
• Ability to build trust with clients and approach sensitive matters with empathy and professionalism.
• Well-developed organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines.
• A collaborative approach and willingness to learn from experienced practitioners.
