Once again we have compiled a list of the worst offending roads (by number of reported crashes) over the last decade[i], this time focussing in on the Toowoomba region, to help you identify the road traffic accident black spots to be wary of when on the roads –
1. | New England Highway, South Toowoomba/Cooyar/Kearneys Spring (1,153) |
2. | Bridge Street, Toowoomba City (611) |
3. | Gore Highway, Harristown/Westbrook (525) |
4. | James Street, East Toowoomba/Toowoomba City (454) |
5. | Alderly Street, South Toowoomba (355) |
6. | Herries Street, Toowoomba City (323) |
7. | Anzac Avenue, Newtown (311) |
8. | Hume Street, South/East Toowoomba (287) |
9. | Warrego Highway, Oakey/Kingsthorpe (260) |
10. | Margaret Street, Toowoomba City (256) |
Unsurprisingly, the major highway, the New England Highway, takes out the top spot by a long way!
It could be of concern however to note that three high scoring roads, Bridge Street, James Street and Herries Street are all located in Toowoomba City!
If you missed our earlier reviews of the Sunshine Coast, Cairns, Ipswich or Logan regions (Parts 1 to 4), check out the earlier blogs. Next month we will be looking at Brisbane.
