WSW round 8 highlights

The winless streak continues as the Wanderers managed to protect only another point in round 8 at Spotless Stadium against Brisbane Roar on Friday night. Both teams entered the stadium in attacking mode and the Wanderers remained forceful outplaying the Roar for a large part of the night, but it just was not enough.

WSW vs Brisbane Roar

The ins this week saw favourites such as Jerrad Tyson in goals who remained solid until the 18th minute where the Roar’s Jamie Maclaren sent Brisbane into halftime with a one nil lead. Maclaren secured a valuable point for the Roar by converting a penalty after Tyson was deemed to have brought down the striker in the box.

Following a disappointing first half, the Wanderers came back into the second half determined to redeem themselves. At the 56th minute Jumpei Kusukami’s did so and scored his first goal with the club assisted by a superb volley from teammate Jack Clisby.

Maclaren’s penalty was now cancelled out and the visitors struggled to push on. The Wanderers continued to play with heart and dominated the match with some solid attacking football, but an equalizer was all that was to remain as they were regularly let down by one too many a touch or misplaced pass..

Despite these noble chances heading into 4 minutes extra time both teams managed to escape with a point being the Wanderer’s 5th draw this season.

Turner Freeman’s Richard Dababneh, Partner from our Parramatta office attended the match at Spotless Stadium with a number of our client referrers who continue to support the expansion of our nationwide firm. Good luck to the Wanderers from everyone at Turner Freeman this weekend, we hope they can break their winless streak as they journey up the Central Coast to take on the Mariners.
