Turner Freeman Lawyers is offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced Legal Assistant to commence or further develop their career within a respected national law firm. This role involves providing high volume administrative and secretarial support to an Associate and Paralegal, under the supervision of a Partner.

The Role

This position is based within our Dust Diseases Department, working on asbestos and toxic dust related claims. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to providing high quality support and assistance across the team. Ideally, you will bring minimum of two years’ experience in a legal environment, enabling a smooth transition into the role.

Key Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • File management and maintenance;
  • High level typing and word processing of correspondence and legal documents, including court documents;
  • Liaise with government departments such as the Australian Taxation Office, Centrelink, and Medicare;
  • Communicate with third‑party providers, including hospitals and medical practitioners;
  • Photocopy, print, and collate legal documents;
  • Prepare outgoing mail and collating enclosures;
  • Compile briefs to counsel and other experts;
  • Open, close, and electronically archive files;
  • Undertake general administrative duties as directed.
