The Role
The role is varied and to be successful you will have a strong desire to provide quality support and assistance to the Partner, and Associate within the department. Your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Assist with estate planning, estate administration and estate litigation matters;
- Draft correspondence, document preparation and amendments;
- Transcription dictation;
- Billing;
- Support lawyers with court documents and file management;
- Liaise with clients, other law firms and external stakeholders;
- Witness final documents;
- Draft probate applications, Originating Applications, Affidavits and other court documents as requested;
- Preparation of briefs;
- Manage deadlines and client follow-ups;
- General administrative duties such as diary and file management eg scheduling of appointments, filing, bring ups, open and archive files; and
- Provide general assistance to the legal team.
The Candidate
Ideally you will bring the following skills and experience to the role:
- 1 year experience as a Legal Assistant/Paralegal in Wills and Estates;
- Pleasant and professional phone manner;
- Self motivated and team player;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with a high level of attention to detail;
- The ability to prioritise tasks and display initiative;
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills;
- Commitment to providing a high level of client service;
