Annabella Mate

Annabella is a Lawyer in Turner Freeman’s Newcastle office, practising in Wills and Estates and property law. She assists clients with estate planning and administration, estate litigation and family provision claims, as well as residential conveyancing and other property matters.

Annabella joined Turner Freeman in 2021 after completing a Bachelor of Biotechnology with Distinction. Her science background developed her analytical thinking, attention to detail and ability to approach complex issues in a practical and methodical way.

While completing her Juris Doctor part time, Annabella continued working at Turner Freeman as a Paralegal across a number of areas of law. During this time, she worked closely with and was mentored by Alexander Munro, an Accredited Specialist in Wills and Estates. This experience developed her knowledge of Wills and Estates law and led to a particular interest in the area. Following her graduation, Annabella moved into a graduate role with the team and has since progressed to Lawyer.

Annabella assists clients with preparing Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney and Appointments of Enduring Guardian, as well as probate applications, deceased estate administration, family provision claims, and unfair Wills claims.

Her property work includes acting for clients buying and selling residential property, purchasing off-the-plan and completing related-party transfers.

She takes the time to understand each client’s individual circumstances and needs, particularly when they are dealing with complex or emotional situations. Annabella is passionate about helping clients throughout the Hunter region navigate their legal matters with care, understanding and practical guidance.
