This is a great opportunity to commence your career in a reputable law firm as an experienced Legal Assistant for our newly established Tweed Heads office. The successful candidate will be required to provide a high volume of administrative and secretarial support to the Senior Associate and Paralegal whilst under their supervision.

The Role

The role is working within our personal injury department. To be successful you will have a strong desire to provide quality support and assistance to the all members of the team. Ideally you would bring with you a wealth of knowledge in the legal field to ensure a smooth transition into the role with 2+ years experience working in a legal field.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • File maintenance;
  • Digital transcription with exceptional attention to detail and typing skills;
  • Word processing of letters and documents including court documents;
  • Communicate with Government departments including the Australia Taxation office, Centrelink and Medicare;
  • Communicate with other third parties including hospitals and doctors;
  • Photocopy, prepare mail including collating enclosures and various documents;
  • Compiling briefs to counsel and other experts;
  • Open, close and electronically archive files;
  • General administrative duties.

The Candidate

The successful candidate’s role will enable you to build on your current office experience which could lead your future anywhere. Ideally you will have experience assisting in a busy, fast paced litigation practice. This is a full time position and you would ideally possess:

  • Previous experience essential;
  • Neat, professional appearance;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including good phone manner;
  • A reliable, responsible and eager to work attitude;
  • A courteous, friendly demeanour; and
  • Eagerness to learn new skills and contribute to the success of the firm.
