As a result of continued growth, Turner Freeman Lawyers is currently seeking to employ a part time Legal Assistant in our Maroochydore office that services the greater Sunshine Coast area.
This role has the potential to be a full time position.
The flexibility of days can be discussed at the time of interview.
About the Opportunity
Turner Freeman Lawyers have an opportunity for an experienced Legal Assistant to join their Maroochydore office in a role supporting and assisting with the efficient operation of a specialised senior legal team.
This is an opportunity to valuably contribute to a busy team with varied daily work whilst utilising your current skill set and adapt to learning new skills and duties.
To be successful in this position you should have the ability to prioritise, good communication and organisational skills and possess a positive driven attitude and a willingness to work with a friendly and positive demeanour.
The Role
The role is dynamic and the successful applicant will be responsible for legal assistant/administration duties for a senior team by providing quality support.
Previous legal secretarial experience is essential and the skills that you have acquired will be utilised to ensure a smooth transition into the role.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Telephone and e-mail contact and support with our clients;
- Preparation of correspondence and court documents;
- Communication with Government departments, Centrelink, Medicare and Work Cover;
- Photocopying and mail preparation including collating enclosures and arranging couriers;
- Compilation of briefs to counsel and other experts;
- Archiving of completed cases;
- Digital dictation transcribing;
- File management including filing;
- Scheduling appointments with clients, doctors and co-ordinating conferences with counsel;
- General office duties and administrative support.

The role will enable you to build on your current office experience and required skills include:
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a busy and cohesive team;
- Possess legal office experience;
- Strong organisational and communication skills;
- Neat, professional appearance;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including good phone manner;
- A reliable, responsible, and enthusiastic work attitude;
- A courteous, friendly demeanour; and
- Eagerness to learn new skills and contribute to the success of the firm.
