We have an exciting opportunity available in our Canberra office for a part-time Paralegal. This role will be supporting the team in the area of Personal Injury with a focus primarily on Institutional Abuse matters.
The ideal candidate will currently be in their second or third year of their law degree and ideally have previous experience working as either a legal assistant or paralegal in personal injury. The role will require you to work a minimum of 3 days per week.
Excellent mentoring, training and support is provided, together with the opportunity to progress at the conclusion of your degree.
ABOUT THE JOB
- Drafting and collating legal documents;
- Drafting legal correspondence;
- Preparing chronologies and summaries;
- Preparation of statements;
- Liaising with clients, medical and legal professionals and other government bodies;
- File and document management;
- General administrative tasks.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- You must be in your second or third year of your law degree;
- A bright and enthusiastic law student who has a passion for helping people;
- Previous experience in personal injury is preferred;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Great attention to detail;
- A hard working, focused attitude.
