Announcing our 2026 promotions

Our legal team promotions

Turner Freeman are pleased to announce the following promotions across our offices, including promotions to Partner, Special Counsel, Senior Associate and Associate.

Partnership appointments

Jessica Grant-Nilon

Jessica works at the Tweed Heads office. She joined Turner Freeman as a law clerk in April 2016 working at the Penrith office. She was admitted to practice as a solicitor on 24 March 2017, was appointed to Associate in July 2020 and Senior Associate in July 2023. Jessica has managed the Tweed Heads office since it opened in August 2025 and has a growing mixed personal injury practice.

Philip Ferraro

Philip works at the Narellan office and was admitted to practice as a solicitor on 5 September 2016. He joined Turner Freeman in September 2019 at the Campbelltown office, before it moved to Narellan. He was appointed to Associate in July 2021 and Senior Associate in July 2023. Philip has a mixed personal injury practice with a focus on CTP claims and also assists with the day-to-day management of the Narellan office.

Stephen Matthews

Stephen works at the newly opened Norwest office, and he was admitted to practice as a solicitor on 4 July 2014. He joined Turner Freeman on 29 January 2019. Stephen was appointed to Senior Associate on 1 July 2023. Stephen is a very experienced personal injury solicitor and has a mixed personal injury practice with a focus on CTP claims.

Allanah Giuttari

Allanah works at the Parramatta office and joined Turner Freeman on 10 June 2014 as a graduate solicitor. She was appointed to Associate on 1 July 2017 and Senior Associate in 2023. Allanah is a very experienced personal injury solicitor who has a mixed personal injury practice including workers compensation claims, work injury damages claims, CTP claims, TPD claims and occupiers/public liability claims.

Aimee Lanyon

Aimee works at the Wollongong office and she joined Turner Freeman in May 2024. Aimee is an accredited specialist in personal injury law and has a mixed personal injury practice. Aimee has assisted in the day-to-day management of the Wollongong office recently. Aimee was recognised as a Top 10 Lawyer in the Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30 Awards in 2024 and 2025.

Thomas Schembri

Thomas works at the Sydney office and joined Turner Freeman on 10 April 2022 as a law graduate at the Parramatta office. Thomas was appointed an Associate in July 2024 and moved to the Sydney office in late 2024. Thomas has a mixed personal injury practice including workers compensation claims, work injury damages claims, CTP claims and occupiers/public liability claims.

Zahra Panju

Zahra works at the Narellan office. She joined Turner Freeman as a solicitor in March 2022 and was appointed an Associate on 28 June 2024. Zahra has a mixed personal injury practice, with a focus on workers compensation claims and work injury damages claims.

Teresa Tripodi

Teresa works at the Adelaide office and she joined Turner Freeman on 28 February 2022 as a graduate lawyer. Teresa was admitted to practice as a solicitor on 23 June 2022 and on 1 July 2024, was appointed an Associate. Teresa works in the general personal injury practice and has a mixed personal injury practice with a special interest in silicosis claims.

Courtney Birrell

Courtney works at the Adelaide office and she was admitted to practice as a solicitor in December 2020. She joined Turner Freeman in October 2021. Courtney was appointed an Associate in July 2023. Courtney’s practice focuses on Commonwealth and State workers compensation claims and military compensation claims. In 2024, Courtney was recognised as a Rising Star in Doyle’s Guide for South Australian Injury and Compensation Law.

Lisa Wyllie

Lisa works at the Gold Coast office and she was admitted to practice as a solicitor on 5 November 2018. She joined Turner Freeman on 24 July 2023. Lisa has a mixed personal injury practice including motor vehicle accident claims, TPD claims, occupiers/public liability claims and workers compensation claims.

Marina Azer

Marina works at the Parramatta office. She was admitted to practice as a solicitor on 13 September 2019 and joined Turner Freeman on 26 September 2022. Marina has a mixed personal injury practice with a focus on workers compensation claims including workers compensation and work injury damages claims.

Melissa Portelli

Melissa works at the Norwest office and she joined Turner Freeman in 2016 as an office assistant before leaving us for a period of time. Melissa was admitted to practice as a solicitor on 24 May 2019 and re-joined Turner Freeman on 26 October 2022. She transferred to the Norwest office in early 2026 and has a mixed personal injury practice with a focus on workers compensation and work injury damages claims.

Marie Bollins

Marie works at the Penrith office. Marie was admitted to practice as a solicitor in March 2019 and joined Turner Freeman on 16 August 2021. She was appointed to Associate in June 2024 and has a mixed personal injury practice including work injury damages claims, occupiers/public liability claims and CPT claims.

Danielle Georgeos

Danielle works at the Parramatta office and she joined Turner Freeman on 30 November 2020. Danielle was admitted to practice as a solicitor on 22 February 2024 and now has a mixed personal injury practice including workers compensation claims, work injury damages claims and occupiers/public liability claims. She was a finalist in the Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30 Awards, 2026.

Claire Jones

Claire works at the Newcastle office. Claire joined Turner Freeman as a clerk on 6 March 2023 and graduated from the University of Newcastle with first class honours in December 2023. She was admitted to practice as a solicitor on 22 March 2024 and has a mixed personal injury practice including workers compensation claims and work injury damages claims.

Joshua Thomas

Joshua works at the Penrith office. Joshua was admitted to practice as a solicitor on 3 February 2023 and joined Turner Freeman as a lawyer on 13 February 2023. He has a mixed personal injury practice including occupiers/public liability claims, work injury damages claims, workers compensation and TPD claims.

Serah Almaet

Serah works at the Penrith office and she joined Turner Freeman on 6 March 2023. She was admitted to practice as a solicitor shortly thereafter on 24 April 2023. Serah works in the general personal injury practice and has a mixed practice comprising of public liability claims, work injury damages claims, CTP claims and workers compensation claims.

Kirralee West

Kirralee works at the Adelaide office. Kirralee joined Turner Freeman as a legal assistant on 1 August 2022. Kirralee was subsequently promoted to paralegal and was admitted to practice as a solicitor in July 2025. Since her admission, she has built her own wills and estates practice which includes estate litigation and has become an integral member of the Adelaide office’s wills and estates practice.

Genesis Asuncion

Genesis works at the Sydney office. She joined Turner Freeman as a paralegal on 19 September 2022 and was admitted to practice as a solicitor on 19 July 2024. Genesis transferred to the Sydney office with a mixed personal injury practice including TPD claims, CTP claims, occupiers/public liability claims and work injury damages claims.
